Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute is searching for a Research Associate to assist in the development and execution of research projects including experiment design, analysis of data collected and writing up experiment results.
Requirements
- 1-3 Years of Research Experience
- 1-3 Years of Research Lab Experience
- 1-3 Years of Data Collection and Analysis Experience
- 1-3 Years of Research Methodology Experience
- Uses a variety of software packages to input, manipulate, collect and record results or observations.
Responsibilities
- Design, integrate, and assemble the hardware systems for an autonomous VTOL platform.
- Develop and optimize the onboard vision to control pipeline to support autonomous flight and perception.
- Identifies problems and obstacles to progress; develops strategies to solve problems.
- May program software in support of job functions.
- Performs research experiments following experimental protocol and procedures.
- Plan, execute, and analyze flight tests to evaluate VTOL platform performance and reliability.
- Summarizes statistical information for analysis, examination or presentation; writes technical reports.
