Carnegie Mellon University's Ray and Stephanie Lane Computational Biology Department is seeking a Research Associate to assist in the development and execution of biology research projects, including experiment design, analysis of data collected, and writing up experiment results, to address complex biological questions using computational methods.
Requirements
- Basic programming skills in Python and/or other tools is needed
- Experience in working with large data sets
- Data analysis and research experience
Responsibilities
- Conducting real-data analysis on large scale biological data
- Software development and analysis
- Developing and implementing algorithms
- Preparation of manuscripts
Other
- Bachelor's Degree in Computational Biology, Computer Science or a related discipline
- 1 year experience working in research as well as software development
- Successful background investigation may be required
- Ability to effectively interact with a varied population of internal and external partners at a high level of integrity
