Texas A&M University's Research Security Office needs a Research Compliance Coordinator to assist in ensuring compliance with research regulations, including export controls, research security, and reviews of visiting scholars and foreign employees.
Requirements
- Three years of research administration, export control, or related experience.
- Working knowledge of Federal and University regulations pertaining to financial conflicts of interest, and/or experience in sponsored research administration or education.
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Experience in a regulatory affairs compliance, research administration/compliance, or export control related area.
- Law degree or legal experience; EAR and/or ITAR certifications.
- Working knowledge of export control regulations, research compliance, federal grant and contract regulations and practical application of current research administration issues.
- Working knowledge of electronic systems used in facilitating export control compliance (i.e. Visual Compliance, SNAP-R, Maestro, AggieBuy, Maestro, Concur, Dimensions, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Assists directors with international activity review requests to ensure compliance with federal, state, and University policies, rules, SAPs, and guidelines.
- Conduct applicable restricted party screenings.
- Monitors document submissions, reports, and notices for quality control, and maintains records.
- Communicates with and provides timely responses related to export control reviews, including issues.
- Assists the director with the review of visiting scholar and foreign employee requests to ensure compliance with federal, state, and University policies, rules, SAPs, and guidelines.
- Log, track, and follow-up on all Visiting Scholar and Foreign Employee requests.
- Maintain all visiting scholar and foreign employee spreadsheets used for metrics data.
