UCLA School of Dentistry's Oral/Head & Neck Oncology Research program is seeking a Research Data Analyst I to support a translational research program focused on developing novel liquid biopsy biomarkers for early cancer detection by assisting with the processing, organization, and analysis of next-generation sequencing (NGS) and multi-omics data.
Requirements
- Exposure to analysis of next-generation sequencing (NGS) or multi-omics datasets, with willingness to learn and apply new analytical methods.
- Interest in developing skills in AI/ML applications for biological or biomedical data.
- Basic knowledge of, or experience using, version control (e.g., Git), containerized workflows (e.g., Docker), or cloud-based computational tools.
- Basic programming experience in one or more of the following: Python, R, SQL, or Bash; familiarity with Linux environment a plus.
- Interest in learning bioinformatics and data analysis methods, including exposure to AI/ML tools.
- Introductory knowledge in WGS, BS-seq, scRNA-seq, ATAC-seq, RNA-seq, CITE-seq..
- Ability to learn to integrate, analyze, and visualize biological datasets under supervision.
Responsibilities

- Bachelor's Degree Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Molecular/Cell Biology, or related field. (Required)
- Master's Degree Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Molecular/Cell Biology, or related field. (Preferred)
