The University of Maryland, School of Social Work’s Institute for Innovation and Implementation is recruiting a Research Data Analyst to support research initiatives under the Adult Services and Child Welfare Accountability (ASCWA) Project, in collaboration with the Maryland Department of Human Resources, Social Services Administration (DHS/SSA), to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of Maryland’s child welfare services.
Requirements
- Ability to understand and utilize social science terminology and research theory in both oral and written communications.
- Ability to perform work independently and meet deadlines.
- Ability to conduct library research and participate in the preparation of journal articles.
- Prior experience in child welfare is preferred.
- Knowledge of child welfare with an understanding of child maltreatment and child welfare systems.
Responsibilities
- Participate in monthly Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) case reviews by obtaining information from the state’s administrative data system and conducting interviews with key case participants.
- Synthesize and enter data obtained into the online monitoring system.
- Conduct annual focus groups by assisting in the recruitment of stakeholders and key participants as well as facilitating focus groups and, as needed, individual interviews.
- Assist in the preparation and writing of manuscripts, reports, and presentations by conducting descriptive statistics, generating data tables, and providing editorial support.
- Conduct library research and contribute to the preparation of and writing of research findings for publication of journal articles.
- Support the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data and the development of technical reports.
