UCLA Social Welfare is seeking a Research Analyst to support data collection, cleaning, and coding for research projects aimed at advancing social justice, promoting health and mental health, and enhancing child and family well-being.
Requirements
- Understanding of basic research methods (qualitative and quantitative).
- Familiarity with survey design and data collection protocols.
- Proficiency with data management platforms (e.g., Excel, Qualtrics, Stata, Dedoose)
- Knowledge of data privacy and confidentiality practices.
- Awareness of social science concepts and terminology (e.g., health equity, poverty, early childhood development)
- Ability to create clear data visualizations and summaries.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
Responsibilities
- supporting data collection, cleaning, and coding for both qualitative and quantitative research projects
- contribute to the development and implementation of data management protocols
- assist with survey administration and interview transcription
- apply coding frameworks to analyze open-ended responses and large datasets
