UCLA Social Welfare is looking to advance social justice, promote health and mental health, and enhance child and family well-being by supporting data collection, cleaning, and coding for research projects.
Requirements
- Understanding of basic research methods (qualitative and quantitative)
- Familiarity with survey design and data collection protocols
- Proficiency with data management platforms (e.g., Excel, Qualtrics, Stata, Dedoose)
- Knowledge of data privacy and confidentiality practices
- Awareness of social science concepts and terminology (e.g., health equity, poverty, early childhood development)
Responsibilities
- supporting data collection, cleaning, and coding for both qualitative and quantitative research projects
- contributing to the development and implementation of data management protocols
- assisting with survey administration and interview transcription
- applying coding frameworks to analyze open-ended responses and large datasets
Other
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to create clear data visualizations and summaries
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data handling
- Bachelor's Degree in a related area and/or equivalent/training
