The Department of State Hospitals is looking to solve complex data and statistical analysis problems in treatment facility areas, including patient referral data, pending placement trends, patient admission and discharge data, patient length of stay, patient demographics, and facility bed capacity/utilization reporting.

Requirements

  • 12 semester or 18 quarter units course work in any combination of a data driven research-related field, such as economics, mathematics, psychology, sociology, demography, geography, anthropology, statistics, data science or a research-related field
  • At least one course in statistical methods
  • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited college with a bachelor's degree
  • Experience with data analysis, data clean-up, data validation, and/or report development for data projects and initiatives
  • Experience with developing or modifying existing interactive dashboards, automated process flows, or other standardized reports
  • Knowledge of database management systems and data visualization tools
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL

Responsibilities

  • Research and perform complex data and statistical analysis on a wide range of treatment facility areas
  • Analyze patient referral data, pending placement trends, patient admission and discharge data, patient length of stay, patient demographics, and facility bed capacity/utilization reporting
  • Develop or modify existing interactive dashboards, automated process flows, or other standardized reports to support research, provide informed data analytics, streamline/improve processes or enhance reporting functions for the organization
  • Perform data clean-up, data validation, and report development for data projects and initiatives
  • Develop and maintain databases and data systems to support research and analysis
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and prioritize research questions and data needs
  • Stay up-to-date with new tools and methodologies in data analysis and statistics

  • Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired
