The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is looking to solve the problem of ensuring data quality of demographic and medical data on primary vital statistics data sources, including birth, death, and fetal death data.
Requirements
- Experience with software applications such as SAS, SQL, R, and Excel
- Strong computer skills in a coding language (i.e., SAS, R, SQL)
- Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
- Data analysis background
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly to meet deadlines
Responsibilities
- Validates and verifies data quality of demographic and medical data on primary vital statistics data sources
- Develops protocols to reduce future data quality issues
- Works as a liaison with both internal and external stakeholders
- Periodically creates and checks vital statistics data products
- Represents the Branch at various data committees, task forces, and workgroups
- Performs varied and complex technical data analytical tasks
- Analyzes and validates data to ensure data quality
