Cedars-Sinai is looking to transform data discoveries into valuable information to empower tomorrow's medicine by applying programming, data mining, statistical analysis, machine learning, and visualization techniques to clinical and biomedical projects related to anesthesiology and critical care medicine.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience programming at an intermediate skill level with a proficient level programming language such as R or Python and SQL.
- Experience in biomedical machine learning is preferred.
- Experience working with continuous physiologic monitoring data and time-series data is critical for this position.
- Writing clean, efficient, and reusable code to enable reproducible analyses, along with thorough documentation and sharing of code and results with principal investigators and the team.
- Applying programming, data mining, statistical analysis, machine learning, and visualization techniques to clinical and biomedical projects.
- Using R, Python, and SQL programming languages.
- Experience with data analysis and machine learning best practices.
Responsibilities
- Leads the development, evaluation, and/or application of computational and statistical methods including artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms and software for the analysis of biomedical data.
- Creates database-to-deployment pipelines for models using the necessary programming languages (primarily R, Python, and SQL).
- Creates sustainable data science infrastructure and adheres to data analysis/machine learning best practices.
- Performs data cleaning, quality control, exploratory data analysis to gauge the need for or appropriateness of advanced analytical methods.
- Leads discussions with senior and/or lead research data scientists and principal investigators to identify areas where data science can best be applied to answer biomedical research and clinical questions.
- Querying databases, processing and cleaning data, ensuring data quality, performing supervised and unsupervised machine learning, applying parametric and nonparametric statistical methods, deploying production models
- Communicating scientific findings through peer-reviewed publications and conferences.
Other
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, or related field, required.
- Master's degree, preferred.
- 2 years of professional experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industries working with biomedical data.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
