Two Six Technologies is seeking a Research Director-Cyber Security to lead research, development, and operationalization of new capabilities for National Security missions, fostering a portfolio of relevant R&D by engaging with technical research sponsors.
Requirements
- A strong foundational knowledge of offensive and defensive cyber security operations, with emphasis on at least one of the following: vulnerability research, reverse engineering, cyber capability development, or cyber systems engineering
- Past performance as a Principal Investigator on fast-paced, innovation-driven, advanced technology R&D projects for Government clients
- Five or more years experience leading scientists and engineers executing research projects
- An advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or related technical domain
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals or industry publications on relevant research
- Experience with agile software development practices
- Experience developing security solutions and products
Responsibilities
- Lead Research Sponsor Engagement at DARPA, IARPA, National Labs, and other research sponsoring organizations.
- Foster relationships with relevant research sponsors, ideating new and innovative approaches to hard, cyber mission problems.
- Set technical direction and conduct technical oversight for a portfolio of Cyber Security R&D projects
- Identifying and leading the capture of new R&D programs
- Participating in and leading proposal generation and delivery
- Mentor junior technical staff.
- research, develop and operationalize new capabilities for National Security missions.
Other
- The Research Director will be required to work 2-3 days/week in our Arlington, VA office.

- Line management of team members and identifying/hiring new team members.
- A four-year degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics with a concentration in cyber security, software engineering, or related technical domain
- Ten or more years post-Bachelors conducting research in cybersecurity topics or related fields
- Eligible and willing to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
- The ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearance up to polygraph
- Proven experience leading a rapidly growing team
- Experience as a Principal Investigator for a DARPA program
