MED-EL Corporation is seeking to solve the problem of restoring hearing and empowering connection through the development of leading-edge technology for auditory prostheses

Requirements

  • Experience in designing, executing, and documenting software development for auditory research, preferably with humans implanted with cochlear implants
  • Proficiency in programming: MATLAB required, Python preferred
  • Familiarity with version control software, Git preferred
  • A doctoral degree in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, auditory neuroscience, speech and hearing science, or a similar or related field
  • Identified degree/diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (English)

Responsibilities

  • Technical support of research related to auditory prostheses
  • Development and application of tools for hearing research and the advancement of implantable hearing solutions
  • Participation in the design and execution of behavioral evaluations of sound coding, signal processing, and other hearing-related algorithms
  • Preparation of technical reports and contribution to study reports and quarterly progress reports
  • Contribute to invention disclosures related to neural prostheses
  • Supporting the development of audio processor emulations
  • Implementing and updating signal processing stages for auditory implants

Other

  • A doctoral degree in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, auditory neuroscience, speech and hearing science, or a similar or related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (English)
  • Some travel for participation in North American and international meetings and conferences
  • Limited technical support for non-Laboratory departments within MED-EL Corporation
  • Designated signature authority for research-related documentation
