The laboratory of Dr. Steven Bensinger at the Keck School of Medicine of USC is seeking a Research Laboratory Technician I to support ongoing research projects in innate and adaptive immunity, specifically focusing on how lipid metabolism influences the immune system.
Requirements
- Familiarity with immune phenotyping, flow cytometry, gene expression (qPCR), RNAseq, and/or related data analysis software is desirable but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research experiments in accordance with laboratory and safety protocols.
- Prepare and organize laboratory reagents, glassware, and equipment.
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Keep accurate laboratory records and manage stocks and supply inventories.
- Prepare buffers and common stock reagents.
- Perform non-routine, complex assignments with minimal supervision.
- Compile and analyze data from a variety of research procedures and techniques.
Other
- Minimum Experience: 6 - 12 months, Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience
- Minimum Field of Expertise: Ability to follow detailed instructions, oral and written
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
