The company is looking to solve fundamental challenges in AI and Robotics by developing next-generation intelligent robotic systems. This role specifically aims to bring novel hardware products and processes to life through expert CNC machining.

Requirements

  • Proven experience setting up, operating, and/or programming CNC machines (vertical, 5-axis, and mill/turn) to machine low quantity prototype parts
  • Strong understanding of G-code programming
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks and SolidCAM (or prior experience with comparable software and a willingness to learn through company-sponsored training).
  • Solid skills in using precision measurement and inspection equipment
  • Working knowledge of GD&T standards
  • Mastery of 3D CAD systems (OnShape, Solidworks, or similar)
  • Skilled with metal fabrication tools and processes (MIG, TIG, plasma, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Set up, program, and operate 5-axis vertical mills and mill/turn CNC machines
  • Design and develop fixtures and workholding systems to manufacture complex 3D parts
  • Create part programs using G-code, conversational, and CAM software
  • Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM, and other precision tools
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair of institute prototyping equipment and materials inventory management
  • Part fabrication and post-processing
  • Daily hands-on prototyping, testing and debugging

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience

  • Strong customer service skills
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience solving complex hardware challenges
  • Experience with robots or similar complex electro-mechanical systems
