The Ohio State University's ElectroScience Laboratory (ESL) requires a Research Operations Analyst to provide technical laboratory research and facility supervision support, ensuring effective and efficient use of research facilities and equipment, and managing various operational and administrative activities.
Requirements
- Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulatory and safety requirements
- experience with facility safety and regulatory compliance protocols
Responsibilities
- coordinates technical operations to assure effective and efficient use of research facilities and equipment within ESL
- oversees facility maintenance
- responsible for overseeing upgrades and renovation by leading the selection process of potential vendors through the request and review of proposals
- serves as primary interface with internal and external facilities contacts, contractors and/or vendors, such as Facilities and Operations Development (FOD), SciTech, and Colliers International, for each of the OSU owned and externally owned ESL buildings
- initiate contracts for the compact range
- work with outside vendors to establish service agreements
- responsible for installation of sensitive research equipment in compliance with all local, state, and national codes and standards, e.g.: OSHA , EPA, Export Control and ITAR, etc.
Other
- This position will require access to export-controlled data and work in an export-controlled facility. Eligibility for this position is restricted to “U.S. persons” as defined in U.S. export control regulations.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 2 years of experience, facilities and equipment management experience, preferably in a university or academic research environment.
- Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
