Requirements
- Experience with molecular biology techniques or mouse handling is highly preferred
- Solid foundation of knowledge in molecular and cellular biology, immunology, and/or neuroscience

Responsibilities
- Working in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards
- Providing standard care to research animals
- Using a combination of novel genetically engineered mice and primary neuron and glial cells to determine the mechanisms underlying tumor-induced nerve injury
- Discovering how such knowledge can be used to develop novel therapies for vision loss
- Evaluating promising therapeutic agents for potential clinical trials
- Conducting molecular biology techniques
- Handling mice
Other
- Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education
- Ability to work independently, follow established protocol reliably, and communicate openly and effectively with laboratory staff and investigators
- Ability to wear protective equipment
- Ability to provide standard care to research animals
- Driver's license is not required for this position
