The Stigler Center at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business is seeking Research Professionals to support faculty research by collecting and managing data, conducting statistical analyses, and assisting with the preparation of research materials.
Requirements
- Proficient with statistical software and programming languages such as STATA, R, and Python.
- Create reproducible, well-documented projects and manage advanced codebases.
- Training in econometrics or mathematical statistics.
Responsibilities
- Collects data, conducts complex statistical analysis, writes statistical software programs, and organizes the presentation of results.
- Creates charts, tables, and descriptive text for the Stigler Center Faculty Director, the Stigler Center publication ProMarket, and other Booth faculty.
- Maintains databases, reviews background materials, and performs preliminary research.
- Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project.
- Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens.
- Conducts literature reviews.
- Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.
Other
- Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
- Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
- Bachelor’s degree in economics or a related quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, finance, or computer science.
- Training in economics through the intermediate theory level.
- At least one year of research or other directly related experience.
