The Ohio State University's Slate Plant Ecology Lab is looking to improve the success of seed-based restoration strategies through laboratory-based research projects and is seeking a Research Project Coordinator to manage these projects.
Requirements
- ability to grow plants across a range of experimental settings
- experience with microscopy
- experience with plant cultivation
- experience with plant functional traits
- ability to work independently with a LI-COR 6800
- experience with Excel and R for data entry and plotting
- background or interest in plant ecology
Responsibilities
- manage laboratory-based research projects
- oversee and coordinate multiple projects and research lab staff
- prepare graphs and advanced data analyses
- lead report and/or publication writing efforts
- train new and existing research lab staff
- lead lab, field and greenhouse research projects
- perform microscopy, take physiological measurements, and take morphological measurements
Other
- Bachelor's Degree in biological or environmental sciences, ecology, or related field or equivalent experience
- 5 years of relevant experience required with High School diploma or GED
- 3 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree
- 1 year of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree
- ability to lift 22.5 kg (50 lbs.)
