Mass General Brigham Incorporated is seeking a Research Scientist to advance neuromodulation therapies through research of intracranial electrophysiological data, focusing on clinical neuroscience projects related to neuromodulation for neurological disorders.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Demonstrated experience with intracranial EEG (sEEG, ECoG) data acquisition and analysis.
- Proficiency in signal-processing toolkits and custom scripting (MATLAB, Python, or R).
- Track record of publications in human neurophysiology.
- Experience working in any cloud platform.
- Must possess strong analytical skills.
- Experience with statistical analysis.
Responsibilities
- Process and interpret chronic electrophysiological recordings from implanted neuromodulation devices.
- Develop algorithms to track changes in neural signatures over months to years and relate them to clinical outcomes.
- Implement advanced signal-processing pipelines (e.g., time-frequency analysis, connectivity metrics) using MATLAB, Python, or R.
- Integrate machine-learning approaches for analyzing behavioral and intracranial data.
- Extract information from Electronic Medical Records to understand access and use of neurosurgical treatments.
- Collect and analyze patient interviews to understand their experience using DBS systems.
- Support the development and submission of grant proposals for funding lab research.
