Leidos is seeking to solve complex engineering problems in the Defense Industry, specifically in the areas of aerospace and defense applications, by applying engineering and machine learning concepts.
Requirements
- Highly proficient with Python and C++ and modern programming practices
- Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, vitest) is strongly desired
- Fundamental understanding of mathematical concepts, including linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate frames
- Understanding of machine learning basics, supervised learning, reinforcement learning, and statistics
- Proficient with source control technologies (Git, GitLab)
- Solid technical communication skills
- Experience with software development and engineering principles
Responsibilities
- Develop solutions to aerospace and defense problems by applying a variety of engineering, AI/ML, and software technical skills
- Leverage internal resources (e.g., software toolkits), collaborate with peers and experienced professionals, and learn independently
- Apply machine learning basics, supervised learning, reinforcement learning, and statistics to solve complex problems
- Develop software applications that enable real-world operators to leverage engineering solutions
- Work with a highly technical, multidisciplinary team consisting of aerospace engineers, computer scientists, research scientists, and statisticians
- Apply fundamental understanding of mathematical concepts, including linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate frames
- Utilize source control technologies (Git, GitLab) and unit testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, vitest)

- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
- Eventually must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI
- Must be a resident of North Alabama area, or willing to relocate to work on-site at the Huntsville, AL office
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, Computer Science or Related field with 4-6 years of work experience
