The Swank Autism Center at Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Research Scientist to develop a targeted research program in autism, focusing on areas such as healthcare delivery inequities, assessment models, hospital-wide initiatives, and postsecondary transition for autistic/neurodivergent individuals.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable training and experience working in clinical and/or research settings with autistic/neurodivergent children, adolescents, and/or young adults, and their families.
  • PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or other doctoral degree in a health-related discipline.
  • Evidence of collaborative academic productivity.
  • Success in obtaining funding for research or a strong potential to obtain funding for research.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a targeted research program in autism.
  • Conduct research studies examining inequities and disparities in healthcare delivery.
  • Conduct research studies on progressive assessment models for autism.
  • Conduct research studies on hospital-wide autism initiatives.
  • Conduct research studies on adolescence/postsecondary transition for autistic individuals.
  • Provide some clinical services as a part of this role, which might include autism diagnostic services.
  • Provide some clinical services as a part of this role, which might include individual/group therapy.

Other

  • Supervising trainees in working with patients and families from the larger Delaware Valley community.
  • Precept trainees including externs, residents, and/or fellows who rotate through the center.
