Requirements
- Experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript), including application of data structures and algorithms.
- Experience in Machine Learning (Deep Neural Networks, Transformers).
- Experience with large language models and inference time techniques.
- Experience in conducting research or with machine learning systems.
- Experience publishing at machine learning (ML) conferences.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for designing new methods for context building and inference scaling methods (retrieval based, thinking, tool calls), either from a pure inference perspective or by doing further training of the model.
- Advance the model capabilities on complex queries by crafting the right context and engage in ambitious high-paced research
- setup large-scale tests and deploy promising ideas quickly and broadly, managing deadlines and deliverables while applying the latest theories to develop new and improved products, processes, or technologies.
- creating experiments and prototyping implementations to designing new architectures
- contribute to the wider research community by sharing and publishing your findings
- sharing our research and tools to fuel progress in the field -- we publish regularly in academic journals, release projects as open source, and apply research to Google products.
Other
- PhD degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience contributing to research communities or efforts, including publishing papers at conferences (such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR).
- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
