The XR Hyperreal group in Reality Labs (RL) aims to develop and advance state-of-the-art technologies in bringing immersive AR/VR experiences, with the goal of contributing to research for new methodologies that can be experienced by billions of people globally.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in one or more areas of Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, and Machine Learning
  • 2+ years of experience with modern C++ and/or Python
  • 1+ year of experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch
  • Broad understanding of the full machine vision pipeline from sensors to high-level algorithms
  • Mathematical background and understanding of linear algebra, numerical optimization, probabilistic estimation, understanding of 3D geometry
  • Proficient in the fields related to 3D vision, sparse/dense reconstruction, and generative AI

Responsibilities

  • Research, develop and prototype advanced technologies in the domain of Computer Vision, Graphics, and Machine Learning.
  • Deliver research results that are both publishable and have a direct impact on Meta products.
  • Analyze the efficiency, accuracy, scalability, and stability of currently deployed technologies to identify opportunities for impact through novel research.
  • Collaborate with team members throughout the lifetime of a project.

Other

  • Currently is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
  • Must obtain full-time work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment for a minimum of 12 weeks
  • Intent to return to their degree program after the completion of the internship
  • Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
  • Strong communication skills and ability to convey research ideas to a broad audience
