Meta Reality Labs Research is looking to invent the future of AR/VR technology by developing cutting-edge prototypes and creating new computational displays and optical systems. They aim to build technologies that will bring people together across the globe through immersive experiences.

Requirements

  • Experience with geometric optics, physical optics, and diffractive optics, including modeling and simulation
  • Experience with optimization or machine learning algorithms
  • Experience with scientific programming languages such as MATLAB or Python and experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
  • Deep learning experience in computational photography, neural rendering, 3D reconstruction, computational imaging, or related topics
  • Experimental hardware experience in computational photography, computational imaging, or related topics

Responsibilities

  • Investigate novel computational imaging systems that achieve high performance through a combination of algorithms and optics.
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers from a variety of technical backgrounds through all stages of project development.
  • Publish research results in top-tier journals and at leading international conferences.

Other

  • Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in the field of Computer Science, Optics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
  • Past experience with cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
  • Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by first-authored publications in journals or at conferences, etc
  • Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship
