Meta Reality Labs is looking to improve interactions with augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) devices through pose estimation and tracking
Requirements
- Deep understanding of at least one of the following areas (pose estimation, object tracking, multi-target tracking)
- Proficiency in Python, Pytorch, C++
- Experience with real-time tracking single or multi-object tracking systems
- Proven research skills involving defining problems, exploring solutions, and analyzing and presenting results
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute cutting-edge research to advance AR/VR interaction technologies in the areas of hand pose estimation and tracking
- Collaborate with other researchers, engineers, and user experience researchers to prototype hardware and software solutions, and run experiments to advance the project
- Work with leading academic researchers in the field
- Explore and implement algorithms to utilize camera streams to track the states of the user and/or device
Other
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, Algorithms, Computational Mathematics or a related field
- Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
- Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
- Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment
