Meta Reality Labs Research Team is developing the future of AR and VR, aiming to create technologies as universal as smartphones and personal computers. The Virtual Humans team specifically focuses on virtual people and robotics, and is seeking interns to advance the next generation of these technologies.
Requirements
- Experience with computer vision, 3D geometry, character animation and/or linear algebra
- 2+ years of experience with C, C++, and/or Python
- 2+ years of experience with one or more of the following areas: developing models for physics-based simulation, 3D geometry reconstruction, robotics, non-rigid deformation, shape representation, numerical optimization, deep learning
- Proven track record of achieving results as demonstrated in accepted papers at top computer vision, graphics, machine learning or robotics related journals and conferences such as SIGGRAPH, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, etc
Responsibilities
- Investigate, design and develop novel algorithms in areas such as full body, cloth and hair modeling, simulation and animation, surface and volumetric reconstructions, for avatars, digital humans, virtual try-on applications and robotics applications for soft-body interactions
- Prototyping, building and analysis of experimental systems
- Design and execution of algorithms
- Collaboration with and support of other researchers across various disciplines
- Communication of research agenda, progress and results
Other
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in Computer Vision, Graphics, Machine Learning, Robotics, or related field
- Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
- Interpersonal skills: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
- Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship
