Tokyo Electron America, Inc. is seeking a summer intern with strong programming skills and expertise in the physics of light absorption in organic materials to work in the US Clean Track (CT) Advanced Technology Group (ATG) located in Austin, Texas.
Requirements
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ is necessary.
- Experience with programming languages such as MATLAB and Python is desirable.
- Familiarity of quantum chemistry of materials is desirable.
- Experience working in a Linux cluster environment is desirable.
- Experience with Monte-Carlo simulations is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Develop software utilities that accurately model complex physical processes involving extreme ultraviolet (EUV) light absorption and energetic responses in advanced materials
- Implement Monte Carlo simulations grounded in mathematical formulations sourced from academic and industry literature
- Communicate with teams in the US, Belgium and Japan to understand project guidelines, scope, and deliverables
- Present project scope and results to local teams, and broader teams across the corporation

- The candidate should be pursuing a B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Physics, Computer science, Engineering, or equivalent field.
- Strong emphasis is placed on candidates that can find solutions to difficult problems through structured project management while working in a team environment
- Knowledge of the semiconductor industry is plus
