Google Quantum AI's mission is to build a large-scale quantum computer capable of complex, error-corrected computations and unlock solutions to classically intractable problems. The role focuses on advancing the capabilities of quantum computing by developing protocols and software for calibrating, controlling, and stabilizing quantum processors.
Requirements
- PhD degree in Physics or Engineering, or related technical fields or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience conducting research in quantum information science or technology.
- Experience developing software for data analysis, modeling, or machine learning.
- One or more publication submissions for conferences, journals, or public repositories.
- Experience developing python software in a collaborative coding environment.
- Experience with quantum gates and readout in superconducting qubit experiments.
- Experience developing, deploying, and validating machine learning routines.
Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, and maintain software for calibrating, controlling, and stabilizing multi-qubit systems.
- Improve and maintain the health of our software codebase for users beyond our team (python).
- Author research papers to share and generate impact of research results across organization and in the research community.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain software for benchmarking, analyzing, and debugging multi-qubit systems.
- Work at the interface of quantum computing, software, and machine learning to develop protocols for calibrating, controlling, and stabilizing the performance of quantum processors.
- Setup large-scale tests and deploy promising ideas quickly and broadly, managing deadlines and deliverables while applying the latest theories to develop new and improved products, processes, or technologies.
- Create experiments and prototyping implementations to design new architectures for real-world problems spanning computer science.
Other
- PhD degree in Physics or Engineering, or related technical fields or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience conducting research in quantum information science or technology.
- One or more publication submissions for conferences, journals, or public repositories.
- Google is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
