The Ohio State University's Department of Molecular Genetics is seeking a Research Senior Technician to conduct independent studies and assist with the design and implementation of funded laboratory projects involving yeast genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, microscopy, and image processing and analysis.

- Experience with Research Technician work (assisting with experiments in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related area)
Responsibilities
- conduct independent studies and assist with the design and implementation of funded laboratory projects
- These studies will involve yeast genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, microscopy, and image processing and analysis
- Will perform statistical analyses
- prepare final research reports and scientific manuscripts
- perform administrative duties that include responding to requests for scientific materials
- maintaining lab stock repositories
Other
- May coordinate, influence, or review the work of others which could include oversight of undergraduate students.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Two years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in any STEM area, preferably in biology, chemistry, or computer science.
- Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
