The Ohio State University's Department of Physics is seeking a Research Senior Technician to support ongoing research focused on chromatin dynamics and function, as part of a collaborative research team funded by an NIH R35 award.
Requirements
- Computer literacy and proficiency with standard scientific software
- Knowledge of molecular biology and chromatin biology
- Familiarity with laboratory software and tools commonly used in biochemistry or biophysics research
- Experience in a biological or health sciences research setting
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- working with DNA and protein samples using techniques such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, chromatography, and protein purification
- preparing and cataloging samples
- maintaining lab equipment
- assisting students in lab procedures
- collaborating with graduate students
- may supervise undergraduate workers
- participating in weekly lab meetings
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in a life sciences discipline (must be conferred by the time of appointment)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team
