The Ohio State University, College of Engineering, Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering is seeking a Research Senior Technician to achieve technical and operational objectives through individual efforts and participation in project teams.
Requirements
- advanced technical knowledge within the Research/Laboratory environment
- broad level of knowledge of Research/Laboratory processes and tools
- experience with equipment and technology relevant to the Department
- ability to utilize technical and operational knowledge to accomplish Research Objectives
- knowledge of reactor design and control, multiphase flow dynamics and modeling simulation, and multiphase reaction engineering
- experience with particulates and multiphase flow and reaction engineering
- ability to recognize and solve routine issues that may occur within the Laboratory
Responsibilities
- utilize current technical and operational knowledge to accomplish Research Objectives
- provide assistance and training for Undergraduate Students and Undergraduate Student Employees within the Department and/or Laboratory
- provide expertise on equipment and be a resource for both Undergraduate and Graduate Students
- recognize and solve routine issues that may occur within the Laboratory without supervisory approval
- complete routine Laboratory maintenance and work without guided instruction from the Manager
- be involved in research areas including particulates and multiphase flow and reaction engineering
- participate in reactor design and control, multiphase flow dynamics and modeling simulation, and multiphase reaction engineering
Other
- Minimum Required Education is a Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Field or an equivalent experience level to a Bachelor's Degree
- 2-3 years of relevant research experience with 4-6 years of relevant research experience preferred
- ability to work in a team environment and provide assistance and training to students
- must be able to pass a background check
- may be required to complete a drug screen or physical during the post offer process
