The Ohio State University's Thoracic Oncology Research Collaborative Hub (TORCH) is seeking a Research Senior Technician to support the development of targeted approaches to overcome resistance to targeted therapies in oncogene driven lung cancer and develop targeted approaches for the treatment of brain metastases.
Requirements
- Experience in molecular biology techniques and in vivo work with mouse models is required
- Previous experience working with animals and maintaining colonies.
- Specifically, 5-6 years’ experience in cancer biology and/or metabolism preferred.

Responsibilities
- Perform molecular biology techniques, ex vivo and in vivo (mouse) studies to develop targeted approaches to overcome resistance to targeted therapies in oncogene driven lung cancer and develop targeted approaches for the treatment of brain metastases.
- Maintains animal colony and implements breeding schemas as directed.
- Support senior staff in molecular biology techniques, ex vivo and in vivo (mouse) studies.
- Documents, analyzes and interprets data for presentations, manuscripts, grant requirements (current or new), etc.
- Participates in TORCH lab meetings, journal clubs and other relevant university oncology or immunotherapy meetings.
- Perform basic molecular techniques, including plasmid preps, gel electrophoresis and potentially western blotting and cell culture.
- Preform mouse experiments including SQ injection of cells, IP injections, oral gavage, and ideally tail vein injections and intracardiac injections.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, biological sciences, or related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A strong willingness to work in a team environment is essential.
- Contribute to TORCH with both expertise and insight into development of collaborative projects, improving upon and troubleshooting current projects.
- Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
- Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
