The Ohio State University's Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is looking to solve the problem of developing nanopore-based single-molecule sensor development projects and requires a Research Senior Technician to assist with the setup, maintenance, and operation of the Nanoscale Sensing and Transport laboratory.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (in biological science, chemistry, biomedical engineering, or equivalent) or equivalent experience
- Experience in nanoparticle synthesis
- Lateral-flow assay development experience
- Surface functionalization experience
- Diagnostic system development experience
- Ability to translate, adapt, and apply academic or practical knowledge to research
- Ability to work with other researchers and communicate clearly in a group setting
Responsibilities
- managing and maintaining laboratory equipment
- maintaining stock reagents and solutions, ordering supplies and equipment
- consolidating the analysis of research results, evaluating the validity of data obtained from experimental procedures
- summarizing data for inclusion in grant proposals, and manuscripts
- preparation of research progress reports
- assisting and supporting other laboratory members and students
- performing administrative tasks including coordinating lab safety inspections
Other
