The Ohio State University's College of Medicine, Department of Pathology is seeking a Research Senior Technician to support scientific investigation into Leishmania disease transmission and vaccine development.
Requirements
- Ability to translate, adapt and apply academic or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research is required
- Experience in public health with managing/constructing REDCap database is preferred
Responsibilities
- Independently conducts assigned experiments
- Performs a variety of molecular, cellular, and biological research techniques and procedures including PCR reactions, gel electrophoresis, assays, cell cultures and Northern and Western analysis
- Sorts and processes tissue and blood samples
- Tests and evaluates current procedures
- Performs routine procedures on lab animals
- Records, consolidates and assists with analysis of research results
- Assists in evaluating validity of data obtained from experimental procedures
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in biological/health science or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
- Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check
- A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process
