The Ohio State University's Department of Physiology and Cell Biology is seeking a Research Senior Technician to assist and support scientific investigation, conduct assigned experiments independently, and perform a variety of molecular, cellular, and biological research techniques.
Requirements
- performs a variety of molecular, cellular, and biological research techniques and procedures including PCR reactions, gel electrophoresis, assays, cell cultures and Northern and Western analysis
- performs routine procedures on lab animals
- sets up and operates laboratory equipment
- ability to translate, adapt and apply academic or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research is required
Responsibilities
- independently conducts assigned experiments
- performs a variety of molecular, cellular, and biological research techniques and procedures including PCR reactions, gel electrophoresis, assays, cell cultures and Northern and Western analysis
- tests and evaluates current procedures
- performs routine procedures on lab animals
- records, consolidates and assists with analysis of research results
- assists in evaluating validity of data obtained from experimental procedures
- summarizes data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts
Other
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
- 4 years of relevant experience required with High School diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree, or 0 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree.
- Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
- A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
