The Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics at The University of Chicago is seeking a Research Specialist to support research on topics related to the economics of innovation and entrepreneurship, and economic growth.
Requirements
- Fluency with Stata.
- Fluency with Python.
- Familiarity with Matlab.
- Computational and analytical skills.
Responsibilities
- Deploys NLP models for textual analysis from multiple databases.
- Calculates firm productivities using a variety of datasets.
- Presents research findings at staff meetings, seminars and conferences.
- Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project.
- Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens.
- Conducts literature reviews.
- Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.
Other
- Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
- Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
- Research experience, such as writing a senior thesis.
- A minimum of two years of employment as a research assistant.
- Knowledge in relevant scientific field.
