The Ohio State University's College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Research Technician 1 to assist with research in the Veterinary Preventative Medicine division, providing direct laboratory and field support of ongoing research projects related to animal health and antimicrobial resistance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study
- Previous experience in laboratory and field research
- 4+ years work experience in a research laboratory
Responsibilities
- perform a variety of duties that provide direct laboratory and field support of ongoing research projects related to animal health and antimicrobial resistance
- collection and processing of field samples at various locations including veterinary clinics, farms, water treatment plants, and grocery stores
- laboratory processing of field samples including basic bacteriology to recover bacterial isolates and biochemical assays to identify and confirm isolates
- preparation of isolates for long-term storage
- collate and summarize research data
- maintain appropriate laboratory records
