The Schwörer Lab needs a research professional to assist in understanding the role of the tumor microenvironment in cancer.
Requirements
- Knowledge of molecular biology techniques, including DNA isolation, PCR, gel electrophoresis
- Experience in handling and working with mice
- Proficiency with mammalian cell culture, 3D organoid culture, Western Blot, RNA isolation and qRT-PCR, and sample preparation for metabolomic analysis
- Knowledge of basic research techniques or methods
- Knowledge of regulatory policies and procedures
- Analytical skills
- Problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Design and execute daily laboratory experiments
- Maintain and renew inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment
- Assist in management of mouse colony
- Work with mouse models, including breeding of mice, weaning pups, genotyping
- Assist in training students and new laboratory personnel in techniques and equipment operation
- Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project
- Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens
Other
- Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field
- Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline
