The NeuroEpigenomics lab at the University of Chicago is seeking a research technician to support projects investigating gene regulation and epigenomic mechanisms in the brain, utilizing advanced multi-omics, neuroscience, and computational techniques.
Requirements
- Previous experience in molecular biology or biochemistry.
- Experience with mouse handling and procedures is strongly preferred.
- Interest in neuroscience, genomics, and gene regulation.
Responsibilities
- Perform genomics experiments, including molecular cloning, sample preparation and library construction for bulk and single-cell transcriptomics and epigenomics sequencing.
- Assist with mouse husbandry, surgery, and tissue dissection.
- Maintain detailed lab records and contribute to lab organization and protocol development.
- This job provides technical and administrative support in a laboratory environment performing basic laboratory techniques, research and analysis under direction.
- Complies with institution, state and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives, and mandates.
- Performs other related work as needed.

- Minimum requirements include vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have a four-year degree).
- Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
