The Section of Rheumatology at University of Chicago Medicine is looking for a Research Technologist to support NIH-funded projects focused on the development and function of innate immune cells and the mechanisms of systemic autoimmune diseases.
Requirements
- Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
- Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
- Bachelor's degree in the biological sciences.
- Relevant research experience.
- Familiarity with mouse genetics, experience with animal colony maintenance and genotyping.
- Experience in basic immunologic techniques such as flow cytometry.
- Skills in basic bioinformatics and image processing strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Performing general lab management, ordering, storage and regulatory compliance.
- Maintaining the animal colony, supervising breeding, genotyping and euthanasia.
- Collaborating with other lab members on the analysis of primary cells and tissues from experimental animals.
- Maintain experimental records, make figures and calculate statistical significance of findings.
- Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project.
- Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens.
- Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.
