The Schatz Center in the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Penn State is looking to solve the problem of managing laboratory and field operations for the Schatz Center for Tree Molecular Genetics and related research on forest health, and conservation in support of the research program of principle investigator (PI) Hamilton.
Requirements
- Genomics and genecology of forest trees
- Basic genetic and statistical analyses
- Greenhouse, or growth chamber experiments
- Laboratory methods development and troubleshooting
- Field experiments
Responsibilities
- Management and execution of workflow to complete research projects on genomics and genecology of forest trees.
- Leadership in development and maintenance of field experiments, greenhouse, or growth chamber experiments, laboratory methods development and troubleshooting.
- Preparation of data summaries and written reports, including basic genetic and statistical analyses.
- Supervision of undergraduate researchers.
Other
- Bachelor's Degree& 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
