TMZ, a part of FOX Entertainment, is seeking a Researcher to support the development of TV productions by providing in-depth research and input for story development, ensuring accurate and compelling content for their unscripted programming.
Requirements
- Must be proficient with LexisNexis and Google search
- Familiar with programs Outlook, and Word Processing, along with basic MS Office software
- Knowledge of social media, and the ability to effectively use and monitor various platforms
- Experience searching court documents and public records, a plus
- Demonstrated depth of historical knowledge regarding entertainment news events and topics
Responsibilities
- Significant reading/researching and fact checking on subjects of each episode
- Summarizing massive amounts of information into smaller, more-digestible info packets for Producers
- Searching through archives and curating photos/videos
- Research and book various guests
- Proficiency with internet and database research
- Other duties, as assigned
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or related field
- 5+ years’ experience working on documentaries, unscripted programming, or news
- Self-sufficient with long term solo research
- Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
