Requirements

  • Enrolled in a curriculum leading to a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university program in one of the following fields: Engineering
  • Familiarity with software tools used in daily operations
  • Ability to perform load analysis, fault current calculations, and distributed generation studies
  • Ability to gather and analyze data
  • Ability to draft and complete related tasks

Responsibilities

  • Gain experience and exposure to practical applications within the utility industry
  • Perform a variety of projects that have specific instructions and expected results
  • Complete day-to-day tasks as well as a project that will last the duration of the assignment
  • Present to a team of company employees the results of the project and overall summary of the experience
  • Gain hands-on experience with load and distributed generation interconnections
  • Participate in site visits to substations, inspections, and field verifications
  • Support day-to-day activities including data gathering, analysis, drafting, and other related tasks

Other

  • Must be a temporarily employed college student in an accredited four-year institution of higher learning
  • Must be offered a work-study program designed to give college students practical work experience in their field of study
  • Must be able to work under close supervision
  • Must be able to report the use of any medication that may impair their ability to perform the job in a safe manner
  • Must be enrolled in a curriculum leading to a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university program
