Alamo Group's Snow & Ice Team, comprising Everest, Henke, HP Fairfield, RPM Tech, Tenco, and Wausau Equipment, needs to ensure efficient, high-quality production of snow and ice removal equipment through robotic welding. This involves programming, setting up, and operating robotic welding systems to maintain safe and accessible roadways during winter challenges.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, 3D models, KAREL/Pascal code, and Word Address/Conversational programming.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly identify root causes and implement solutions to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Advanced mathematical skills with the ability to interpret complex part drawings and specifications to optimize machine performance.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring tools with a fundamental understanding of fit, form, and function; knowledge of GD&T is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks, WeldPro, or similar CAD/CAM software.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in robotic weld programming.
  • Expertise in robotic welding, metal fabrication, and troubleshooting to enhance efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, program, run, and optimize robotic welding operations.
  • Modify programs as needed to comply with the latest design revisions while maintaining documentation control in coordination with Manufacturing Engineering and Design Engineering.
  • Respond swiftly to machine breakdowns to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
  • Contribute to Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives within work centers.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a preventive maintenance schedule for robotic equipment
  • Provide operational training for additional personnel as the department develops.
  • Program, set up, and run robotic welding systems for efficient, high-quality production.

Other

  • Collaboration with production control, engineering, and operations teams.
  • Manage multiple projects effectively, adapting to changes and developing innovative solutions to overcome challenges.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Associates of Science, technical diploma or certification in welding technology, robotics, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, as needed to minimize machine downtime.
