Apex Systems is seeking a Robotics Engineer to join a small R&D team building interactive systems that blend hardware, firmware, and creative magic. The role involves working on functional hardware, driving motors, handling sensors, and enabling wired and wireless communication for these systems.
Requirements
- firmware for STM32 and ESP32 platforms
- Interfacing with a variety of sensors (IMUs, encoders, distance sensors, etc.) and motor drivers
- low-voltage wiring (<60VDC)
- oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and other test equipment
- wired and wireless IP (think Ethernet, Wi-Fi, maybe even UDP/TCP comms)
- Experience with motor control (brushed, brushless, or stepper)
- Python scripting for test automation or simple tooling
Responsibilities
- Designing and laying out custom PCBs
- Writing firmware for STM32 and ESP32 platforms using vendor IDEs
- Interfacing with a variety of sensors (IMUs, encoders, distance sensors, etc.) and motor drivers
- Handling low-voltage wiring (<60VDC) for sensors, actuators, and subsystems)
- Building and troubleshooting systems using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and other test equipment
- Building systems that connect over wired and wireless IP (think Ethernet, Wi-Fi, maybe even UDP/TCP comms)
- Collaborating with a small, multidisciplinary team to get hardware off the bench and into the real world
Other
- Onsite in Orlando
- 3-6 months+
- mid-level embedded electrical engineer
- Familiarity with Git and documenting work for teammates
