SICK is looking for interns to contribute to real-world projects that drive innovation and impact across the business, gaining firsthand exposure to strategic decision-making, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership.
Requirements
- Math-based majors are preferred such as engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, etc.
- Strong computer and electronics skills.
- Machine vision experience preferred.
- Industrial programming experience preferred (robotics, PLC, etc.)
- 3D modeling experience preferred (Solidworks, AutoCAD, etc.)
- Knowledge of engineering design principles and processes.
Responsibilities
- Gain experience focusing on SICK’s robot guidance portfolio.
- Hands on experience with industrial robot arms and leading 2D and 3D machine vision technology.
- Work on a chosen project with the assistance of the manager, mentor, and team.
- Work closely with the manager and a selected mentor to understand systems, processes, and key information.
- Interface with other departments and interns to gain knowledge of the business, products, positions and more.
- Provide innovative recommendations on how SICK can improve.
- Complete a final presentation at the close of the internship that outlines the involved project(s) and knowledge gained.

- Enrolled in an accredited university/college program.
- Strong deductive and inductive reasoning skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-directed and able to work without supervision.
- Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
- Ability to self-start and learn on the fly.
- Legally permitted to work in the United States.
