Johnson & Johnson is seeking to fill Robotics Solutions Engineer Apprenticeship Program positions to train individuals in the integration, operation, and maintenance of sophisticated robotic surgical systems, addressing the need for skilled professionals in the rapidly evolving medical robotics industry.
Requirements
- Proven understanding of programming concepts and ability to modify existing code (C++, python, etc.)
- Fundamental understanding across software, controls, robotics, mechanical, and electrical engineering, with ability to quickly come up to speed in new technical areas
- Must understand electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and other related user documentation
- Experience partitioning and decomposing sophisticated engineering problems into solvable problems
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with software-controlled mechanical systems preferred
- Previous projects developing robotic systems preferred
- Working knowledge in electrical engineering and associated test equipment preferred
Responsibilities
- Develop excellent proficiency in the interdisciplinary field of systems integration that draws upon mechatronics hardware, software, and process development.
- Training will cover the calibration, testing, configuration management, and root-cause analysis of OTTAVA™ including operating the system in clinical settings.
- Gain a deep understanding of the capital equipment NPI process, learning how new robotic technologies are developed, manufactured, tested, and launched.
- Acquire knowledge and hands-on experience in installation, deployment, upgrades, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs.
- Develop the skills necessary to provide excellent service and support to healthcare professionals, ensuring optimal system performance and customer satisfaction.
- Learn how to apply a broad variety of engineering subject areas to integrate, operate, root-cause, and maintain the incredibly sophisticated OTTAVA™ Robotic Surgical System in hospitals and medical facilities as part of the Service Solutions organization.
Other
- An undergraduate or graduate degree in a relevant engineering field, including Electrical, Computer, Software, Mechatronics, Systems, or Robotics Engineering with a graduation date between May 2024 to September 2025.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills in leading projects
- Ability to relocate anywhere in the United States upon successful completion of Robotics Solutions Engineering apprenticeship program is required.
- Travel frequency up to 40% within the US.
- Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future.
