Knight is looking for a dynamic AS400 Developer to innovate the transportation industry by developing and maintaining applications.
Requirements
- 5+ years programming experience with RPG Required (Report Program Generator) /iSeries
- 8+ years programming experience required.
- RPG required. (Report Program Generator)
- SQL experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform program design, coding, testing, development and documentation activities of highly complex and/or multiple inter-related applications.
- Develop technical specifications, development approaches and time requirements for average to large size projects or packaged software implementation.
- Consult with users to determine project scope.
- Develop cost/time estimates and value-add impact for assigned projects/programs.
- Provide leadership with pros/cons for moving forward with potential development projects and communicate rationale for recommended action.
- Draft and/or revise Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs).
- Participate in integration, training and implementation activities.
Other
- Incumbents provide on-job-guidance to lower level developers.
- Incumbents are strong individual contributors focusing on design and development of applications.
- Incumbents take lead roles in an Agile teams as needed.
- Mentor and/or provide on the job training to less experienced developers.
- Must be able to transfer knowledge to others.
