VetsEZ is seeking a Ruby on Rails Backend Developer to support backend development for a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) project, aiming to design and implement secure, high-quality server-side components, APIs, and database integrations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience developing in Ruby on Rails and managing backend systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with RSpec testing experience.
- Proficiency with code versioning and collaboration tools (e.g., GitHub, Jira, Confluence).
- Proficiency in managing and optimizing RESTful APIs within federal environments.
- Experience with system integrations such as CorpDB, MPI, BDN, and VBMS.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend components using Ruby on Rails, JSON controllers, Sidekiq, and RESTful APIs.
- Conduct backend system analysis, optimize performance, and support integration testing.
- Participate in code and sprint reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and compliance.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and operational procedures.
- Design and implement server-side components, APIs, and database integrations.
- Contribute to system planning, deployment, and analysis to deliver secure, high-quality solutions.
