GDIT is seeking a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to work within a mature Agile/DevSecOps environment to bring conceptual solutions to life, supporting the U.S. government, defense, and intelligence community with advanced technology solutions.
Requirements
- 2-5 years’ experience with Ruby on Rails
- 2+ years of experience with software development, software architecture, APIs, and microservices
- 2+ years of experience with building software using agile methods
- 2+ years of experience with Ruby and associated frameworks (e.g., Ruby on Rails)
- 2+ years of experience with multiple back-end languages (e.g., C, C-Sharp, Java, Python, Ruby on Rails) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular.js, React, Node.js)
- 2+ years of experience with database engineering, and manipulating relational and NOSQL databases
- 2+ years of experience with automating tests for determining quality, security, performance and usability of a system
Responsibilities
- Researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software
- Works with a team of software engineers, testers, designers, and product managers to bring conceptual solutions to life
- Builds software using agile methods
- Develops software using Ruby and associated frameworks (e.g., Ruby on Rails)
- Works with multiple back-end languages (e.g., C, C-Sharp, Java, Python, Ruby on Rails) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular.js, React, Node.js)
- Engages in database engineering and manipulation of relational and NOSQL databases
- Automates tests for determining quality, security, performance, and usability of a system

- Experience writing and evaluating user stories, acceptance criteria, and pull-requests
